How we work, from the first conversation to delivery
Every Thirdlinks project follows five steps: discovery, planning, development, testing and delivery. The scope varies, but you always know what is happening, what you get and what comes next.
What happens in each step?
How long each step takes depends on the size of the project. You get a timeline before we start.
Step 1: Discovery
We get to know your business and work out what the solution should do.
What happens
- We talk about your goals and how you work today.
- We look at the systems, routines and content you already have.
- We agree on what is most important to solve first.
What we need from you
- Time for a conversation about your goals and how you work today
- Access to any website, systems or documents that matter
What you get
- A shared understanding of your needs
- A proposed solution with scope and price
Step 2: Planning
We decide what to build, in what order and when.
What happens
- We describe the features, pages or modules.
- We create sketches or drafts where needed.
- We set up a timeline with milestones.
What we need from you
- Feedback on the plan and sketches
- Sign-off on scope and timeline
What you get
- A plan you approve before development starts
- A timeline and agreed check-ins
Step 3: Development
We build the solution and show you the results along the way.
What happens
- We build in small steps, so you can follow the progress.
- You see and try parts of the solution before everything is finished.
- We adjust based on your feedback.
What we need from you
- Content such as text, images and a logo, where needed
- Feedback when we show you what we have built
What you get
- Regular updates
- The chance to shape the result as it takes form
Step 4: Testing
We check that everything works before the solution goes live.
What happens
- We test features, forms and integrations.
- We check how it looks and works on mobile and desktop.
- You test it yourself and approve it before launch.
What we need from you
- Try the solution yourself, ideally with someone who will use it
- Sign-off before launch
What you get
- A solution that is tested before your customers or staff use it
Step 5: Delivery
The solution goes live, and you get what you need to use it.
What happens
- We launch the website or put the system into use.
- We show you and your staff how to use it.
- We agree on what happens next, such as further development.
What we need from you
- Who should have access to the solution
- A heads-up if anything does not work as expected
What you get
- A finished solution in use
- Training and a plan for what comes next
What happens after delivery?
A digital solution is rarely finished for good. After launch, we agree together on what you need next.
Hosting and operations
We can take care of operations, so your website or system stays available and up to date. We agree on what is included before launch.
Maintenance
Technology changes. We keep the solution updated and fix issues, so it keeps working as it should.
Further development
When your needs change, we build on what you already have. New features are planned the same way: the need first, then the solution.
Questions about the process
How long does a project take?
It depends on the scope. A simple website takes less time than a system with many users and integrations. You get a timeline after the discovery step.
How much do we need to contribute?
We need you to share what you know about your business, give feedback on drafts and test before launch. We take care of the rest.
Can we make changes along the way?
Yes. Because we show you the solution as we build it, adjustments are easy. Larger changes are agreed together, with an updated timeline and price.
